The Standard Wax Ribbons gives the least amount of scratch resistance, chemical resistance and heat resistance. It is the most economical ribbon.

Wax/Resin

A Wax/Resin Ribbon is a mix of wax and resin that gives a more durable print that stands up to heat and chemicals better than a wax ribbon. These ribbons work well with paper labels as well as synthetic labels.

Resin

A Resin Ribbon gives a higher level of durability and resist smearing and scratching much better than a Wax or a Wax/Resin Ribbon. Resin Ribbons stand up to higher temperature ranges and more solvents. Resin Ribbons are used on Polyester labels, polyimide, polypropylene, and polyethylene labels.
